Plaid around

I farewelled this year’s last day of winter in an oldie-but-a-goodie checkered wool dress.

If I need to name my favourite print/pattern of all time, it’s got to be plaid. There is a timeless quality about the checkered pattern which has never really gone out of fashion probably since the dawn of time. From Braveheart to Burberry to Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2013 Campaigns, this iconic pattern simply represents the unforgettable and remarkable history and culture, and the amazing capability to evolve with time.

This Review checkered wool dress I purchased some years ago has been a wardrobe staple - I have worn it every winter since. Today, I styled this plaid number with another wardrobe staple, the Burberry Brit trench, a Kookai black top and a pair of Tony Bianco lace-up peep-toes which I scored at the sale a few years back. I find the look rather playful yet preppy, although a bit on the warm side for the balmy Sydney weather today.

Goodbye winter. I shall miss everything about you and my winter wardrobe…but in the meantime, let us embrace this year’s Spring fashion! =)

Til’ next time!

xx

Carmen
